Blue Sapphire

Being categorized as an oxide mineral, this belongs to the family of the mineral Corundum and is composed of Aluminium Oxide. After a Diamond, Blue Sapphire is known to be the second hardest mineral found on Earth with a rating of 9 out of 10 on the Moh’s Scale of Hardness. The signature Blue colour a Sapphire gets is due to the presence of Iron in the composition along with Aluminium Oxide. Also known by the name of Neelam in India.
